Alto Los Leones, a Nature Lover's Paradise

ABOUT US t

We are a little group of neighbor organized in an association since may 2009 to try to repair the access road to our properties (fincas).

From this meetings surged the idea for some of us to begin an ecoturistic project connected with the forest and mountain conservation.
Sharing some resources (like this website, water, micro production of energy, ideas, ...) will help us to make some scale economies and will ensure to the participating families an equitable revenue.

Our target is to receive individuals, families, or groups interested in having activities, in a peace full ambient and in harmony with the surrounding nature, like:

  • Hiking, trekking and creation of new paths
  • Birdwatching and faune study
  • Observation of orchids, bromélias, and flora
  • Species inventory
  • Horseback riding
  • Medicinal plants garden
  • Wood workshop
  • Renewable energy workshop (solar, wind, hydro, biomass, ...)
  • Organic agriculture workshop
  • Butterfly garden vue
  • Trout fishing
  • Goats
  • Pottery workshop
  • Yoga
  • Cooking workshop (cheese, bred, marmalade, ...)
  • Bred oven
  • ...

For the lodging we have several options :

  • Chalet Los Leones, Marie Claire et Frank, fully equipped, up to 4 persons. (ready)
  • Alfonso's Mountain shelter, for groups up to 12 persons, rustic, familial and comfortable ambient (ready for March 2010)
  • Sergio's base camp, camping spaces and outside activities.

Our ''fincas'' (properties) are close to the north side of the Área de Conservacìon La Amistad Pacifico (ACLAP) near the Tapanti National Park.
The access road to Alto los Leones begins in the parking of Kiri trout fishing and is going uphill 2 miles north in the mountain.

We are just at the beginning of this project and we will give you latter more information's, details and pictures on this website.g
